Abdul Hadi Ilman, S.E, M.P.P bergabung di Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa sebagai dosen di program studi Ekonomi Pembangunan pada tahun 2014. Ia mendapatkan gelar sarjananya di Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 2010, dan mendapatkan gelar Master of Public Policy di Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management, Korea Selatan tahun 2014 melalui skema POSCO Asia Fellowship.

Pada saat bergabung dengan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis di tahun 2014, Abdul Hadi Ilman diberikan amanah menajdi dekan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis menggantikan dekan sebelumnya ibu Sri Andriani, M.M. Abdul Hadi Ilman telah  mempublikasikan lebih dari 50 artikel ilmiah pada jurnal nasional maupun jurnal internasional. Ketika menempuh pendidikan di Korea Selatan, ia mendapatkan penghargaan The Dean List with Distinction yang merupakan penghargaan akademik untuk mahasiswa yang memiliki IP 3.9 keatas dalam satu periode semester.
